My experience in Shanghai has not been anything but amazing. SISU Guesthouse was great and it was located in a very convenient place. It is very near local shops, great restaurants, the LuXun park, and several train stations which allows you to move to anywhere in the city. The management was very nice and helpful, and the room was comfortable.

The campus was beautiful, as it is full with plants and trees that gives the image of a quiet place. The administrative staff was very helpful in the admission process. The teachers were great and kind, teaching us everything that we could in the little time that we were at the SISU. I believe that my Chinese's level has improve significantly thanks to their method.

The summer camp at SISU also opening my mind to other Asian cultures and languages as we meet a lot of people from other Asian countries: from Korea to Japan, to Thailand and many others. I will go back now to my country to continue studying Chinese as this experience has left me with more eager to get better.

The extracurricular activities organized by the university were the perfect blend of education and fun. The trip to Yu Garden and the boat tour of the Bund offered glimpses of the city's rich history and the optional calligraphy, paper cutting and TaiChi classes offered a deeper appreciation for Chinese customs and traditions.

Thank you for this opportunity and it was a special and interesting month of my life. We should call it the magical month of the year, it was full of memories, studied, learned, laughed, cried, adventures, seen, spoken to, welcomed, and many amazing moments that can’t be forgotten.

I have improved my Mandarin a lot. The classes in the morning were taught in a dynamic and practical way, so the things we learnt in class were applicable to everyday conversations. At the start of the program, I found it hard to even order a coffee; now, I am able to order food and understand a menu written fully in Chinese. Something that I liked was that we weren’t given too much homework, which meant we could go and explore the city in our free time. Also, I liked that all of the explanations were done in Chinese. I think that this really helped me improve my listening skills which was the discipline I struggled the most with before coming to China.
